James Valley Sporting Clays

 

James Valley sporting clays was started in 1987 as a warm-up for pheasant shooters before the hunt.  As one of the original Sporting Clays courses in South Dakota, it began with 10 stations of hand throwers, but has now matured into more than 20 stations of electric machines and monthly registered shoots.  James Valley sporting clays has also been selected to host the South Dakota state championship in 2004, 2008, and the 2011.

Our breathtaking course covers more than 50 acres in the scenic James River Valley, where you may catch a glimpse of; a flock of wild turkeys, herds of elk grazing, or some of our trophy Sika and Fallow deer.  Our clubhouse offers a 60 foot deck that can accommodate numerous guests for corporate events and large parties.

Over the years visitors have come from Alaska to Florida and New York to California for the amazing scenery, friendly hospitality, and of course the first rate targets.  Our course offers a full spectrum of targets from rolling rabbits, to vertical teal, to crossing and overhead shots.  We also have stations set up for every skill level from beginner to master class and everything in-between! 

Our Pro shop conveniently caters to your needs with ammunition for sale, as well as gun and cart rentals. James Valley Sporting Clays is open year around by appointment.
